NMN in Skincare: Can it Help with Anti-Aging and Skin Health?
NMN (nicotinamide mononucleotide) is a molecule that is involved in the production of NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide), a coenzyme that plays a critical role in many cellular processes, including energy metabolism and DNA repair. Some studies have suggested that increasing NAD+ levels through the supplementation of NMN may have anti-aging and health-promoting effects.
However, while there is some evidence that NMN supplementation may have systemic health benefits, there is currently very limited research on the use of NMN in skincare. Some skincare products marketed as anti-aging may contain NMN as an ingredient, but there is little scientific evidence to support the efficacy of NMN in topical skincare applications.
Furthermore, while NMN is generally considered safe, the long-term safety and efficacy of NMN supplementation for anti-aging and other health benefits have not been thoroughly studied, and more research is needed to establish its safety and efficacy in skincare applications.
